Stearns needs to hold the baseline and drive heavy forehands into Parry’s one-handed backhand. Parry’s compact two-handed return should help her begin those exchanges on steadier terms, particularly against a second serve that has been attacked in recent defeats.
Stearns’s one-match head start is the clear risk, especially in the opening games. It does not outweigh Parry’s stronger pressure record, broader rally shapes and higher current ranking; above even money, the Frenchwoman is the sounder side.
